The sun was shining again on Sunday 21st of March as dozens of GTCA supporters joined hundreds of others to run the 29th annual Brentwood Fun Run and Half marathon raising over £2000 in sponsorship and donations. It was only two days after Georgia had played netball in a fun and lively mums vs daughters match at Brentwood School. Unfortunately this meant Georgia was not well enough this year to take part in the fun run but was there to support and cheer on the competitors. GTCA runners Alex and Chris Waltham and Christy & Harvey Dailly made up the winning team of the fun run coming 4th, 5th, 13th and 15th respectively. Alex, 15, and Chris, 13,  were both positioned 1st within their age groups while Christy, 12, and Harvey, 10, were both placed 2nd in their age group categories. GTCA had other successes that day with best fancy dress being won by Su Hornsby, Karen Griffiths and Nicola Cadzow, who dressed as clowns in aid of Georgia’s Teenage Cancer Appeal, and Best Under 16s was won by Rachel Hornsby, 15, who appeared as a ladybird too. Well done to all runners and walkers who took part in the fun run and half marathon. Places can now be booked for next years race at www.brentwoodhalf.org so let’s see how many of us can rise to the challenge and support GTCA in Georgia’s memory.
